Hello, we have 2 interesting cars:
'64 Vette, zz430, TKO 600 5-speed
'86 Fiero, heated up ZZ3, Corvette brakes on BIG rotors, Cryoed transaxle, lowered with home made rear coilovers
You can see them at

Interesting needs on the Pontiac build:
Need to move the starer from the right to the left side of the motor- some tricky alignment there, of course you now have no room for the oil filter, so that has be remote located.
No room for a conventional water pump, so that's been replaced with a CSR electric pump where the battery used to be so had to create a batt box in the rear.
No room for the original balancer- had to cut out and box in the frame
Original deck close mechanism wont clear the valve cover, chop it out and add gas cylinders to the deck.
BTW, we have thousands of miles on this thing, never runs over 190* actually has more room for mech work than the V6 and only weighs 30# more.
It was a fun build for my son and I (didn't hurt that I'm a machinist and he spent a year at WYOTECH in Chassis fab and HP engine courses).

its always nice to see guys take the time and effort to build something thats a bit different and something that has a lot of performance potential while still having that older muscle car look
that 64 vette with a TKO 600 and newer engine transplant would be a prime example

a "86 Fiero, heated up ZZ3, Corvette brakes on BIG rotors, Cryoed transaxle, lowered with home made rear coilovers"
would be far more challenging, for most guys to build but its in the true hot rodding tradition of stuffing the largest engine and biggest brakes in the smallest and lightest car you can find

PICTURES PLEASE!!, ID love to see both cars, and if you have info on the parts conversion and install process for both cars that would be great!

grumpy, the vette is pretty sraightforward - I've heard reports of leakage and vibrations withe TKO conversion - I had none of that -although a tip here, darn near all old Vettes have som efloor sag and that has to be corrected or the trans just won't fit. You need a min. of 3/4" between the floor and the crossmember.
Interesting stuff on the Pontiac conversion:
Must use a 9.5" clutch, we used a Spec3+ and it handls everything fine.
Need more radiator, available from V8 Archie out of Chicago as is the adapter plate to connect the transaxle to the SB Chev. Archie sellls complete kits for the install but we didn't care much for the Eng. in the rest of the parts so we just created our own.
I won't be on line much for a few days as I got bit by a mean cat and can't do much with my right hand and all the meds to get it all fixed. Try tying your shoes with one hand and you'll understand.
