Howdy everbody from Central Illinois.

I'm the proud owner of a 1988 Corvette coupe.
It's dark red metallic with the auto tranny.

I'm getting the interior spiffed up. Had the car repainted last year.
Also put GS replica wheels on it. 17x9.5 fr/17x11 rr. I'm in the process of gathering up some parts that I hope to get installed with the next month.

Accel Superram Intake base
SLP runners
Ported Plenum.

The above are going to the powder coaters soon.

I've also got a 2400 stall converter and a B&M tranny cooler.
I've still to get headers and a shift kit, plus all the various gaskets and other stuff that I'll need to install my parts. Details, details.

I guess I'll go look around and get aquainted with the place

welcome! cool lookin vette, i like it.

i am curious how the decision was made to stay with the stock , enlarged TPI setup as opposed to some of the aftermarket types, LT1, holley stealth ram , etc.

don't get me wrong, i love a modded stock type tpi setup, was running low 12s in a very streetable firebird back in the day with mine. but the thing ran out of air at about 5900 rpm, despite heavy porting/larger runners etc.

i don't know enough to comment on the 2400 stall for that setup, grumpy will be able to comment, he might need more specific cam info , rear gearing etc to answer fully.

anyway, glad to have you here!

Well, internally the motor is completely stock. Since my car will rarely (if ever) see a race track I'm not looking for a motor that needs power over 5000 rpm. I was really looking for better breathing in the low to mid-range. It's more of a stop light to stop light thing :p

...and I'm also a fan of TPI. It's an impressive looking system when the hoods popped open.

As far as the converter, a very reputable performance tranny guy recommended the 2400 stall for a stock or nearly stock L98.

Long term, I hope to have a stroker motor ready to install next winter, but we'll have to see how that pans out.

Oh, and thanks for the welcome :!:

ok, yes i see your approach, sounds good to me.

i also agree, one of the most gorgeous intake setups ever to grace a motor anywhere.

i have a feeling those boring LT1 intakes are green with envy.
