Hello all I am Nehemiah from Central Florida. I am always out to learn something new and the most recent thing I have started is learning to weld. Saw links to this forum on a different website. Thought I would check it out.
welcome to the web site!
why not post some pictures of your projects
or ask questions or add some tips you might have learned to help other members
btw
what are you welding and what welder do you own?
no one starts out knowing how to weld, it takes time and practice,
without knowing the metal thickness , welder polarity and welding rods used,
amp setting's , that's not easy to diagnose,
obviously your not getting the correct heat or application techniques,
it helps a great deal to find an experienced mentor or attend a welding class before you start welding. your local MILLER or LINCOLN
welder dealer can set you up with a class locally or tell you where they are locally
I was taught the three Ps of welding...Preparation, Penetration & Practice.
In high school shop class we were given a 6” square plate of steel then our job was to lay beads over it until it is 1/2” thicker.
We had to clean each bead of slag before the next was applied.
All said and done the instructor cut it into 1/4s and any slag or holes dropped your grade.
