This is a link to another form, this guy had a ticking noise in his engine. All forged rotating assembly, he says it has TRW forged pistons, has a 174 baby blower, g force 5 speed, and he says it has been revved to the moon more times than he count due to missing a shift. Oh yeah the engine has 100K on it.

With that many miles, on a forced induction engine and that many miles, I am thinking his bore was very worn, and with forged pistons already having piston slap, that is what knocked the skirt off. I think he better pull that engine down to a bare block and look at all the piston/rod assemblies for evidence of cracking. What do you guys think? The picture of the piston is about half way down the page.

here's a picture of the piston/rod assembly:

I forgot to say, the rotating assembly is all forged, and he doesn't know what the piston to cylinder clearance was when the engine was built. I am thinking this piston/rod assembly has some other unhappy brothers and sisters in the block.

WOW. He even used those Z gap rings.

Hey Bob, I checked out your link. Could you do me a favor?
On that site, see if anyone has an Emissions Hose Routing Diagram
(under hood decal) for an 84-86 305 SBC Canadian (non-feedback CARB).
This link, http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/326470/
prompted me to ask.
I am converting my 84 TransAm from CCC E4ME to M4ME.
Thanks, Mike.
grumpy would probably be your best source for that, I haven't a clue what your talking about, sorry Mike.

I would help if I could, but I am not much on emissions stuff. I am a basic sorta guy, my skills are limited when it comes to stuff like that, I prefer a car have the bare essentials to operate.
