On the '68 Catalina -

Much of the rubber weather moldings are cracked and need replacing.

The biggest item is the rear bumper. It may have been hit in the past it looks lower then it should and it's starting to rust and has some minor dimples.

There is an old afternoon-market radio attached to the lower dash that has to go. There are two speakers on the floor in the rear. If anybody sits back there they have to put their feet on top of them.
The original radio doesn't work. I may have to research for a tasteful location for new speakers and perhaps get one of those new CD/Radio that correctly fit and look original but is up to date.

Replace some bits like the Pontiac Arrow on the front nose, a door arm rest and obtain a new convertible top boot cover. The glove box has a small crack and a good detailing under the hood. Oh yeah, the A/C doesn't work. That's about all I could find wrong just yet.

2 more more things, the battery tray was rusted out so the shop mechanic installed the battery in a battery box and relocated it to the trunk.

The seller says the shop guy couldn't connect the parking brake because he thinks the rear was changed at sometime and therefore the cable can't be connected OE style.

Minor headaches Richard .

You ain't kidding! I pulled in the lift bay and it's every bit as long as my Silverado crew cab long bed!

I took the family out tonight for a ride. It took the country back roads like the '56 Caddy I restored 15 years ago. There is newer exhaust but it's kind of too loud for a cruiser convertible.

I'm going to raise it on the lift tonight and take some pictures. I'm curious what rear is there.

I wanted to open it up tonight but the deer pop out of the corn fields when you least expect them. Besides, it's not like the Z06, this thing floats over the road like a hovercraft. The steering is nice and stable, none of the usual sway back and forth. You can feel at ease letting go of the wheel and it stays straight even under braking conditions. Braking is smooth and quite without any pull. Still not like a new car that allows you to feel absolutely secure at all times.
