PCV system routing.

Sounds like the OP wants to eliminate any fresh air from entering the crankcase by removing the hose that provides filtered air to the crankcase. That would prevent the proper function of the PCV valve and eliminate the benefits it provides.

Can't tell you how many times I've gone through explanations with entry level hot rodders who think that getting rid of all that "Pollution control" stuff will increase performance. I start by calling it a Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve rather than a Pollution Control Valve. If it's an online discussion I send them here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crankcase_ ... ion_system

EDIT: Just realized the OP on the bullet is same here. You need to provide a place for fresh filtered air to enter the crankcase. The opposite valve cover provides good circulation of air in the crankcase so it's commonly used on V engines. You could eliminate the hose to the TPI and use a push in filter however you may see some oily residue on the valve cover and filter from crankcase gasses escaping under certain conditions when the crankcase air pressure rises and the PCV is closed.

Thanks for the reply, I just spent the time looking at schematics. One valve cover on the LT1 is system free as the fresh air is pulled in conventionally and the PCV valve is located in the intake (vacuum) and pulls gases from the rad side valley of the intake.

Solved. Stays as is.

reading the links posted below should help,
the vapor line to the charcoal canister is to remove vapors from fuel tank vent line,
escaping from the fuel tank as the internal volume of fuel changes with heat and engine use, its not connected to the fuel pump lines
