I am not a big fan of stopgap purchases... but in this case I think it might be a good idea to do an intake swap as it would make the driving experience so much better.
Down the road I plan to do something about the powerplant; but that may be a while and I will be building, or buying a crate, exactly the way I want.
I probably will go through the expense of swapping on a TCI Rattler as that can be re-used on another build/crate.
The intake (and remember I have C3 'vette hood clearance issues); is another story.
I have found that there is a bit of slack in the throttle cable; contributes to making getting off the line with difficulty...
I have an Edelbrock Torker 1 on there for the moment. I suspect, and some have said, that this is the rest of the story. At low rpm, is seem to threaten to stall too easily.
I found on a local flea-bay an Edelbrock Performer 2101 for $125. Over here that is reasonable.
IIRC, that is a dual pattern intake and would work with my AFB. I am thinking of picking that up and reselling my Torker 1. Fixing the throttle cable, the intake and the MC should make this a much better driving experience.
Real investments in the motivation will come later.
Go for the 2101 ?
