these tools come in handy, but even a common dremel tool with a cut-off wheel can be used very effectively PROVIDED you understand how to keep the ring ends smooth and square and maintain the correct end gap and your careful to remove burrs
CUT SLOWLY AND CHECK FREQUENTLY , MEASURE CAREFULLY BECAUSE ITS A P.I.T.A. to be trying too, be CUTTING THE RINGS LONGER ONCE THEIR TOO SHORT, too provide the correct end gap
yeah! bad joke! but piston rings are expensive!
but don,t get crazy if you slightly over gap rings, they are designed to work and wear , you generally want about a .004 end gap per inch of piston diam. but gaps as wide as .030-.035 will usually still work on a combo that was ideally set up with a .017 end gap
