How about a List of your favorite Piston stop tools you like for Camshaft Degreeing Grumpy ?

I have performance race engines to build at work.

I missplaced my aluminium Tavia head off style.
Never liked it much because it flexes easily.

Found my Head On style piston stop tools.

Must work on LSX & Ford SB & Buick V6 & Pontiac 455 & Olds BB 425.

The Race Speed Shop is in Joliet.
Go nearby daily.
Stop in and Buy it.

The Head off piston stop tools I found tonight are made for 5-bolt per cylinder Small Block Chevy & Big Block Chevy.

None listed for 4-head bolt per cylinder engines.

You find any different Grumpy ?

Most of the time I Degree cams in with Heads on.

But engines to build soon Heads off degreeing cams in.

I have been thinking of purchasing the ISKENDARIEN DUAL DIAL INDICATOR MASTER CAM DEGREE TOOL KIT.

Very Stout Cast Construction.

Cheap hardware moves flexes easy.
Throws all cam degree check accuracy off.
Know this by prior experience .

BTW I assume you gentlemen do know theres
even a correct and very inexpensive tool for spinning it from the flex-plate or flywheel

step one remove ALL the spark plugs, and make sure the cars not in gear,
so spinning the engine over manually is far less effort and feeling the piston touch, the piston stop is much easier.
remove both rockers from that cylinder during the process of verifying TDC

I found the dial indicator stand / bridges on Summit Racing Website Grumpy.
They get another $20 for a Magnetic style stand !
Glue your own magnets on with JB WELD EPOXY !
