Is there any low buck way of oil priming a distributor-less motor? More specifically the LS-7 dry sump system. I'm wondering if the same end results can be had sans the expensive drill operated pump canister with braided lines and AN fittings.

No Richard.
LS Has a Front Crankshaft driven direct drive oil pump.
If you recall that 427 Dart NSX BLOCK WITH FULL RACE PORTED LS3 HEADS I WAS WORKING ON LAST YEAR IN THE RACE SHOP & HAD ON DC, TO REPLACE THE BLOWN UP LS7 IN A 2010 Z06 VETTE.
IT HAD A $900 BILLET OIL PUMP.

sure there is , all you need is a cheap DC volt, oil pump,
a few lengths of hydraulic hose or fuel line or braid re-enforced tube and a properly size threaded fitting to screw into the chevy LS block oil passages

That's a good idea Grumpy.
But I have one of those 12vdc transfer oil pumps and it moves motor oil slow and low volume with almost zero pressure output.

Mallory Ignition made special Oil Priming Pumps.
Most were sold to Big Block Chevy Boat Owners.
Fountain Boats with Twin 800-950 HP Supercharged Big Block Engines.
Mallory Priming oil pump was expensive . Around $500.00.

Its an 11-12 Quart system on a Dry Sump ZO6 & ZR-1 Corvette.
Could build your own LS X NSX Priming pump from a BBC Oil Pump or a Pontiac V8 SD-455 RAM AIR 5 OIL PUMP.
