yes, i knew it would be a bad question to ask. I am down to a few things needed on my 72 vette barn find so that i can put it up for sale. Originally all I wanted to do was flip this car and make a few bucks. I started doing an honest rolling driver quality restoration for a virgin body, rust-free complete coupe. It had good and even compression but since it sat for years I systematically renewed the fuel system with a professional rebuilt original date correct carb from lars (original carb was a Holly Economaster 425 cfm), replaced the fuel pump, and rubber lines. Dropped the tank to inspect and clean. NOS plug wires, plugs and professional rebult orig distributor with higher performance advance springs. flushed and changed trans fluid. replaced bad brake caliper and all new brakes. new shocks. rebuilt power steering valve and pump. rebuilt starter and alternator (keeping all parts original). replaced entire dual exhaust incl. new Magnaflows. There's another 20 smaller repairs and replacements. the only fluid leaks now are from the rear seals. Although i know how to replace all the seals i'm really not motivated to get started. I am wondering what kind of hit i would take or how hard it would be to sell this car with leaking rear seals? I'm wondering now how hard it will be to sell a 72 low optioned coupe (no tilt steering or a/c). I have $10 k into this (just parts and car) and i'll lilely ask just under $10K. What ever I ask someone will have the balls to offer half anyway (and that really pisses me off!) So I feel any more money spent is just a waste but my other demon says i have to able to put a buyer to ease showing the hard stuff is done and it's now just a matter of easy stuff like replacing weather stripping and perhaps rear chrome. The paint is shot and needs a respray.
