rear strut bars

I noticed the struts are bowed a little, was this done intentionally or did something happen? With 235-60 tires and factory original wheels, the leaf spring ends are touching the tires. Is this a result of having the suspension hanging?

The bow doesn't show so well here.

Here it looks like the camber is all the way in. Should I even bother to mark the current positions of the cam bolts?

Is the picture correct ?

I looked at my Park Avenue and it has about a 10° bend, but it's happens over a few inches. Looks like your strut is curved over the entire length.

When it's on the ground, can you look at the spring and see if it's touching. It's obvious that you have driven it some, but I don't see any marks on the wheel or tire, so it seems to be ok.

Why do you ask about the camber bolts, are you getting ready to work on the rear end? It never can hurt to mark them, you got nothing to lose.

I have to install new seals for the pinon pinon and half-shafts, so I'll start dropping parts as soon as I get the truck done. The strut (yes, that's it) looks exaggerated her because the spring is close. No, I haven't driven this at all. The car came with 215-75-15. I'll be back at 8 est.

It sure looks like someone has driven the vehicle, the tires are dirty.

Is the spring close to the tire or the rim, I can't tell in the picture ???

Sorry chromebumpers !!!

My mistake......I was fixing the quoted area that didn't come out right in your post
and forgot what I was doing.

No I have never watch Wheeler Dealer, guess I'm just totally in the dark.
You must of mentioned the history of the vehicle, but I don''t remember
what you said about it. So that's why I'm in the dark on this one.

At the point where the spring is 1/8" away, do you have enough material
in that area that you could trim some off?

Is the space equal on both sides, maybe the spring needs to be centered
in it's mount.

Or maybe you just want it to be like it was from the factory and will
have to purchase some parts.

Of course, let us know what you decide.
