circuit board repair work requires far more precise and pinpoint solder work,
In a few cases the source of the problem is very obvious after a close detailed inspection of both sides of a circuit board under a bright light with good reading glasses.
in many cases vibration or age can damage a printed circuit board that costs hundreds of dollars to replace IF you can find one in good working order at all.
in many cases a close inspection under good lighting and decent magnification will show cracked and easily re-solderable connections to loose components like capacitors, resistors, transistors, light sockets or fuse holders etc.

a single loose solder connection can put a whole circuit board out of service.
in many cases a close inspection and some multi-meter testing will allow a minor solder repair to make it totally functional again

if you're doing repairs on sensor pigtails a solder gun
(like pictured below)
is very useful.
but those solder guns are too large and difficult to use ,
on delicate pin point circuit board repair work

anything under about 200 watts rating is basically a P.I.T.A. to use and a TOY in my opinion,
(and an electric soldering gun with 250-300 plus watts is much easier to use)
