Other than by serial number, is there anyway to identify the larger cfm (larger than the 750 cfm QJets) carbs? I.e.: the 800 to 850 cfm.

Its debatable some 800 cfm claimed models.
Never seen actual Rochester Engineering Tested results on later claimed Pontiac 800 cfm models.

I go by Doug Roe.
He was the Rochester Q-jet Engineer.

1973-74 SD-455

1970-71 Buick GS STAGE 1 455

I had one that came on a 267 SBC that someone gave to me.
A Thermoquad, and it looks different than the regular quadrajets and Carter AFBs.

If your quadrajet has the largest factory bores and the throttle plates open to full 90 degrees, you have 800 cfm.
Like Brian said, it's in Doug Roe's book. Another good source is www.cliffshighperformance.com

Yes - I remember that. I have a few large bore carbs, one is a rare '70 Hurst 455, a Buick Stage I and I forget the others.

Richard needs $ again.
Going through his Private Stash of parts.

There is a different supply and demand economy throughout the world. American muscle is endless here, not so much in Europe. Looks like as much as 30% higher in some countries.

If you can find a Buyer for the Hurst 455 W30 Carb its the most desriable.
There is No Power Valve used.
Set up like a True Drag Race Holley.

Be nice if it was SD455 800 Cfm Value.

Maybe $3,000 cash for the 1970 W30 455 carb.

With a custom nontraditional musclecar and no racing pedigree to show or prove the Best thing to try is Ebay.
Put up a listing.
Start Auction at .99 cents no Reserve.
Put A phone number to call.
Be preparred to shut it down in last 10-seconds.

There is Racing Junk.com also.
TT Has no 10 -7 second ET 1/4 timeslips.
Price it high and none will call.

Is there a thread on this TT?

No there isn't. But the TT as of this weekend is on the block. I realized that my kids are soon driving-age and will never be able to drive the TT. Nor would I allow it. It is too dangerous. So it is time to let her go. My plan is to replace the venerable TT with an early C3 'vette. Not sure how this came up here...

I met the Clifford guys at SEMA a while back... I was tempted to stick with my 250L6 but they weren't convincing enough when it cam to performance claims. I liked their logo 6=8. When I met them at SEMA, they had just undergone some very big reshuffling or personnel.

Instead, I got an SBC400 and my 250L6 was donnated to some fellow in the UK ;-)

Cliffs... not Clifford... DUH!!!!!!! Please ignore my gibberish...

Considering my crappy 60-foot times, I am happy with the 11.8 and 11.7 I netted but don't have a pic of...

I am proud of the TT

Lots of them are 800 CFM, the difference is in the primary's.

This outer ring is thinner vs thicker.

Thanks
