I'm looking the rods over to see what I what to do besides the usual beam polishing and I notice this thin section around rod bolt. Pointed out by the red arrows in the pic below.

I want to round and smooth this area of the cap to remove the very thin section of the cap. Should I use the RED LINE or the GREEN LINE ??? The RED LINE would still leave some of the thin section, although it would be shorter. My lines may look like they are making sharp turns, but would has a nice radius when done. I just didn't have my better programs to work with in the garage.

I like the GREEN LINE, but what do you think ???

Ok, I see what your saying I think. That thin rib on the cap helps to resist changes in the bore diameter when it's time for that area of the rod to resist the high loads. I don't know how many times I've read to remove sharp/thin edges, so that's all I could see in this application.
