Whats your thoughts/opinion on Lukovich SBC Short Block Kits?
Was looking at their website and noticed that their kits come with Dart SHP blocks.
Not sure what the rest of the kit consists of. Thanks for your time.

It looks like they use eagle crank and rods, which are a common name brand,
I've seen several guys buy and install those cranks and have friends that have used eagle rotating assembly's without issues,
but having compared them side by side with SCAT, ID PREFER SCAT,
the machine work quality and consistency was noticeably more precise on the two 383 sbc cranks,
I compared on the SCAT crank

Prices seem on par would like to know what crank and rods I am buying before pulling the trigger but seems like a good deal. Be ready for freight charges also. I have seen Dart SHP blocks for $1500 on line. So add up the other parts it equals out nice though but as Grumpy will point out all work and tolerance need to be checked before assembly.

They have an upgrade list there from what I saw it is good if you just want to get your parts from one place and assemble your own.

After lots of questions, searching and reading this is what I have come up with so far:
- Comp. Products Max Effort Short Block Kit w/Flat Top Pistons, 385cu in
- Comp Cams XR288HR
- Dart Iron Eagle Heads 200cc Runners w/64cc chambers
-Holley Single Plane Intake
- 750dp Holley Carb.
Please critique. Suggestions/ thoughts are welcome.

with a 64cc combustion chamber volume, on a 385 displacement sbc,
and flat top pistons and a .040 quench your close to 12.5:1 compression
well over the compression ratio to run common pump octane fuel,
even with that cam your compression's too high,
you need a 75cc combustion chamber

throw a 3.73:1-4.11:1 rear gear in the truck and a 3200 stall converter and use race gas and open long tube headers, and the largest slicks that will fit,
don,t forget the traction bars or required suspension mods, a stronger that original differential, better cooling, and oil and trans fluid cooler, etc.

Already has 4.10 gears in it with a 3000 stall converter.
My question is, Does this look like a combo that will work together?

with a decent single plane intake (below) you should have no major problem,
but Id suggest a crane 119591 cam , and 3400-3500 rpm stall converter,
with 12.5:1 compression and race gas, yes with that fairly light weight truck you should get by with the 3000 stall, but its not ideal

Rick...if you have time can you run a software dyno for this gentleman

Id suggest 1 3/4" 37" long primary headers with a 3" diam, 20" long collector

E85 Fuel makes it affordable to run ultra high static and Dynamic compression on the Street.

Turbo Boost the limit can be as high as 44psi I have witnessed and Rode Shotgun .
Mitsubishi import 1St Gen Evo 4 banger.
Small piston diameters so flame front & quench detonation easy to keep in check.
I put together that Race Engine for Yusuef the Head EFI Tuner in the race shop last year.
I felt 8-second power with traction.

Race Car on my mind all the time too.
Ok as long as you have anothe daily driver that runs on pump gas.

With your changes to the combo would you please run a dyno sim for me.
Thanks f0r your input and your website. Have learned alot by just reading.
Also realized I didn't know what I thought I knew.
