I'm constantly AMAZED at the seeming lack of information shared between the drag racing and stock car racing communities,
Im also amazed at the lack of knowledge that each group, has, and uses, thats common readily available to it that's, seldom used by the other group.
for example
the average stock car mechanic by necessity learns about frame rigidity , roll cages and suspension set-up, tire compounds and both oil control and cooling, and thinks nothing of stripping out 90% of the original cars interior
the average drag racer tends to concentrate more on engines and ,weight transfer , because of the differences in the cars requirements, and most don,t spend nearly the effort in reducing their cars weight.
now theres obvious exceptions and as you get into the more advanced cars the factors, in the cars designs, that are used tend to merge.
much is due to the limitations imposed on the different cars, and engines used, by the controlling, bodies, like nascar, and nhra, and the, type of racing and its duration., but as an example you don,t see many dry sump drag race cars, and the engine sizes in stock cars are limited by the rules

comments gentlemen???
