GRUMPY? IVE, Got an oil drain plug stuck like crazy in a cast aluminum pan. Really don't want to do any damage...the bolt is already attempting to round off even with a nice tight-fitting 6 point socket.

Ideas? Thanks!

run engine 10 minute to get engine warm, put the car up on safe jack stands or a car lift, spray the bolt for 20 seconds with freeze spray, whack it a few times with a tack hammer, the vibration helps it get loose, then use a stilson wrench, otr good vise grips or a small pipe wrench if you don,t own a stilson wrench, but a cheap versions available at HF for under $10, which will get a good grip and will remove it like it was never stuck, the heat in the engine oil expands the aluminum, the rapid reduction in temp on the bolt due to the freeze spray shrinks the bolt diameter, and the good gripping wrench makes removal easy.
(don,t get under the car till its safely supported)

if your reading this and wonder if it works?

TRUST ME A BIT HERE!
it would be out by now if you followed the suggested route of removing it, Ive removed several that were completely rounded off that way
