When I was about 22 my new brother-in-law was about 16, and just got his drivers license, He purchased a 383 road runner, it looked very similar to this one except it was powder blue.
well he just had to have a set of chrome wheels but was low on cash.
he found a set of really nice looking steel wheels that were chrome plated at a really good price at a local swap meet, and purchased them, and took them home.
I took one look and told him he got screwed , because the holes for the wheel lugs were obviously recently BRAZED and re-cut and painted with silver paint.
He was not concerned because the hub caps that came with the wheels covered that when installed, and besides, the guy that sold him the wheels at the local swap meet, told him he would have no problem.............
the very first time he tried a burn out,
BOTH REAR WHEELS CAME OFF JUST LIKE THE PICTURE, shows
Only ,one came off in the picture ,above BUT his car was sitting on the rear axle with two tires lying near by, and he was not all that thrilled when I leaned in the window and reminded him that
I TOLD YOU THAT A BRAZED CENTER SECTION, WOULD NEVER HOLD UP!.........theres is a reason if a guy at a swap meet, is willing to sell parts at 1/3rd the price everyone else wants [/b
HIS ROAD RUNNER WAS CLOSER TO THIS COLOR
