tranny pull when new engine goes in

To be honest Bob I don't know.
Likely have to check for proper clearances.
Midplate mounts are used in full bore Race Chassis cars most often.
Like 7- second & faster drag cars.
NASCAR.
Super Late Model Unlimted Dirt Track.
High speed Road Racing.
Sometimes in Jet Boats with large cubic inch V8. Engines.
Will research tommarrow.
Guys I knew used front motor plates often.
Only 1 used a midplate drag race. Had a 7-second BBC 540 Alcohol Camaro.
That car is gone.

So do you think I am over doing it with a midplate? Will a front mount do for a street application?

Maybe Bob.
Most guys I have known liked using Front engine plated.

Cars do launch nicer & have better 60' foot times using Engine Mount plates Vs stock clamshell mounts.
I have fought broken engine mounts in the past.
Chains can & do break. Cables snap. Radius Torque rods can break too.
Front engine mount & Midplates won't break.

Hey Brian, I am wondering if I made my own midplate or midmount, do I have to put it in between engine and tranny. I was thinking of putting studs in the back of the engine for ease of alignment with the tranny, I was thinking of making a custom set of midmounts that would bolt behind the tranny bellhousing. Would it be of any consenquence?

Likely work Ok on backside of Trans Bob.
If the Secondary Midplate is between the Engine Block & Trans it would be a much stronger layout.
Its Then Laminated between. Becomes a Solid Member joint point.
