No more empty seats, you’re crammed in like Sardines. Hot as hell cause the little old 92 yr old lady next to you is “Freezing” it’s 80 degrees in the plane!
The hotels charge your card weeks in advance of your stay. I’m not talking about a security deposit - the whole stay, taxes and fees included. It’s been a little while so I‘m told this is the new norm. Went to Chicago got back last week. The tiny room was $290/night and taxes amount to 22%. Eating out, the food sucked. Children and retirement home portions, a tasteless piece of rawhide was $66 the salad was the best part, the potato was recooked a few times before I lucked out. When the old lady next to me was trying to “chum” it up to me she said I should have picked most anything over $100 to get something bigger than 6ozs with some taste to it. And this was called “affordable family dining“ in the city guides. Breakfast was a joke. StarBucks was $21 before tax and tip for a large coffee and a danish, yes - no mis-types here. I used that private car service to and from the airport and a taxi in the city. The private car driver told me all the details, I don’t know why anyone would ever do it. It was nicer and easier to travel abroad than it is any domestic flights. My advise - when planning a trip get a few Valium ahead of time!
