I really, really want a 500 horsepower engine that will rev to 7500 or so with no problems. I have built a transmission that will hold it but the Dana 36 is going to be a bit suspect. I guess time will tell. It might live if I just run 295 tires on the ass.

I believe that i have the parts to pull off the 500 HP. I'll post some pics when I wake up in the morning. It's going to be a 385 cu,in. all forged with custom make diamond pistons. I'll be selling the Mahle .030 overs, There in good shape and don't have many miles

I have the AFR competition heads with 2.08/8mm valves and 200 8mm valves. Chanbers are 62cc and they are 195cc but they really flow very well. They are the competition heads and flow over 310/308/330 from .500 lift and up.

this will be the shaft mount rockers that are kicked by solid rollers and Jesel Rocker arms.

Compression is going to be a bit mild at 11.4 just because I want to drive it on sightseeing trips and some great runs down the mountains. It's first trip will be from Kentucky to Baltimore to eat crabs and drink beer. About a thousand round trip. Just to loosen her up a bit.

you may reach 500hp, in fact it should not be all that difficult with that combo,to exceed 500 plus HP, but ID bet serious money that maintaining dependable power any where near 7500rpm with that cams going to be very difficult, Id bet it power peaks at least 1000rpm lower, Id also point out your piston speed with a 383s 3.75" strokes becoming rather critical at about 6500rpm and up, making both valve control and durability much above 6500rpm a gamble at best, Im not saying it can,t reach 7500rpm, but thats most likely well past the rpm youll make any power.
Id suggest calling and talking to SEVERAL cam manufacturers and ask what they suggest , for your particular combo, without discussing what other manufacturers said then compare notes, as to duration, LSA, lift spring load rates , expected power band and matching rear gearing etc. etc.

heres a link to a engine with similar displacement and cam duration

That's my Bud Gunny's Engine.
I recall it from CFC4.
Diamond Pistons too for the 70-1/2 TA.
I am a Gambler also Big G.
Titanium Intake & Exhaust valves does miracles extended high Revs over 7500 RPM.
Been using Ti Retainers since 1994 & Ti Valves since 1998.
It just plain works Gunny.
TI retainers a good start.
