" GRUMPY, Ive got a 1996 truck, with a 454 vortec engine, and I,m wondering what I can do to this stock motor to create better hp looking around the web I don't see much any suggestions?

how much money are you willing to spend on the project and are you willing and able to do major mechanical work, or will you require a shop to do the work?
Work that may put the car in the shop or your garage for weeks?
Are you capable of doing the work yourself and do you have the tools, and location to do so?
how much of a power increase are you looking to get?
what have you done up to this point?
What car or truck are you using this engine in?
are you willing to change to a different rear gear/, bigger tires?, a different transmission?
do you need to pass emission testing?
what transmission do you have now?
whats the car or truck weight?
is mileage an issue?
a typical lower compression 454 has a great deal of potential but its also likely to get rather time consuming and expensive to do some of the more extensive mods like a higher compression stroker kit or new cylinder heads or adding a centrifugal super charger ETC.
