Ok GRUMPYVETTE, I have a mildy-aggress. (Comp Cam 270h) 350 engine dropped in my Monte for about 2 months or so.
Everybody compliments "that thing sounds mean"....but they don't understand having a good engine only makes you have to address lower performance parts and upgrade (and they could actually beat me easily now because of my setup) because everything is only as good as its weakest link

I have 3 non-engine related issues:
2" Dual Exhaust
Non-Posi (I think) stock gears (was a LS so should be V6 gears)
No Headers

I know doing headers first would make the engine breathe better.....but then again the air is flowing through such small pipes.....and then again, still gears would get the wheels moving and "hooking up" much differently
I really plan on doing all the upgrades at same time, but that's only a plan
Just in case things go awry

Which performance upgrade is the weakest link now? and which would you do first and in which order?
RearEnd, Exhaust and Headers

Building a really nice car takes time and its usually done in stages as your time and cash flow allow, having a dependable and beefy suspension and brakes is a good idea, Id go with a two step approach, Id swap to a ford 9" rear with a posi, and a 3.54:1-3.73:1 or similar rear gear,as its FAR stronger and easier to work with, once thats been done ( BTW ADDING DISC BRAKES IS A GOOD IDEA)that way you know theres very little chance of busting a differential or not having good dual wheel traction, or stopping
ID suggest adding headers and a good 2.5" dual exhaust with an (X) is a good idea.
