195 AFR heads
or 195 trick flow heads
i know there is a lot more to it than a simple choice, but if you were building a 500hp engine which would you use

this will be my first for aluminum heads, i usually use dart sportsman heads

the answer might be NEITHER ONE, without a good deal more info to see what your planing to build thats a bit like asking if you think you will be happy if you marry the first girl wearing a red blouse that walks into walmart...
your cylinder head choice depends on the v engine displacement, operational rpm range, induction system, cam timing and intended power band ETC.
look both those heads might be the correct choice for a specific combo, or neither one might be correct, theres a good many decent aluminum sbc heads available.

just off the top of my head if I was trying to build a 500 hp plus sbc, ID start with a dart 427 short block and add a crane hydraulic roller like a

ID use a 3.73:1 rear gear and have near 10.5:1 compression, and a 3500rpm stall converter, 7 quart baffled oil pan , oil cooler and a killer intake like an Edelbrock 2892 converted to EFI with a 1000 cfm throttle body and 44 lb injectors, Id try to find a faily light weight car and an over drive trans like a 4l80e
