Results???? Hmmm, still a tiny hesitation but cranks fast and starts immediately even when hot.o_O

Looks like the battery lug was just barely big enough for that cable. Did you borrow those crimpers from hell???

Good Deal Dorien. :D

You can't notice but the Early Pontiac V8 High Torque starters have longer field magnets and Armature segmented poles front to rear in same size dimension case.

The late model 10 MT from about 1987-1995 ( after 1987 10 MT's only used on trucks) has the distinctive taper bevel in the Barrel main case.
Early Pontiac V8 did not , straight barrels.

Just FYI.

"GRUMPY I HAVE A 1969 vette that won't do a thing when I hit the starter key, any ideas"

step one
think logically be sure the cars not in gear,
get out a multi meter
verify the battery has the correct voltage (near 12 volts) and the battery cables are good as are the battery cable connectors
once you get it started verify the alternator boost that to closer to 13.8 volts minimum
step two
verify the starter and solenoid work with a set of test leads and there's 12 volts reaching the starter

if the engines starter spins the engine with the test leads look at the ignition switch or cars alarm system or bad electrical grounds
