Corvette C-5 coils...

I'm replacing all coils on my C-5 with NAPA Echlin coils. Are they a good choice?? I also was reading about the MSD multispark coils. Is this a gimmick or do they really work??? Any help will be greatly appreciated. It is also nice to be back after I injured my back on an ATV accident ( Banshee ) a BIG hello to all. Joe.

if you've got a part number of several CLEAR PICTURES of the new coil that your looking to swap too, it would help, because theres several NAPA Echlin coils.
and IM not 100% sure what your talking about (yes IM well aware of how the O.E.M. coils work on a C5)
but IM a but unclear at this point what you expect to gain as the cost to swap seems a bit high, and unless your currently having ignition issues I don,t see any huge advantage

They look exactly like the ones you show at Mid America.. I have a slight miss when I decelarate, It only happens when it warms up to operating temp. Replaced plugs and wires, Plugs are NGK TR 55s. I gapped the plugs at 57 at first and it ran very bad and miss at idle. Heard 040 is a better gap, and it sure is idles great, but, still have slight miss or hesitation when decelarating.... I figure there is a weak coil since it was missing real bad with the wider gap. Any opinions on the MSD coils?????? :?:

as always , any time you have a problem, the first step is the purchase of a factory shop manual, the next step, is that you need to isolate and test potential sources and pull trouble codes rather than just throw random parts at a problem
post clear pictures of all 8 spark plugs and post any trouble codes
spending $600 on 8 coils that are most likely NOT the source of your problem, is a waste of time & money

MSD makes a good coil but again, it may not be coil related and until you've proven its the coils its not a good Idea to start spending cash you may need else-ware for different components
theres LESS CYLINDER PRESSURE AND LESS ELECTRICAL resistance during DECELERATION than under acceleration
what are your trouble codes?
have you checked for vacume leaks/, exhaust leaks? whats your fuel pressure?
what trouble codes?
please post clear pictures of the spark plugs
