ASSUMING its the correct KEY for the car and its been inserted correctly
try spraying some WD40 in around the KEY first and then firmly depressing the brake and releasing the brake quickly and turning the steering wheel HARD in both dirrections intermitantly, and trying to shift the gear selector back and forward untill it frees up and rolls and try applying the brake while it rolls if it will, if you can,t get it to roll in gear because its in park, try having a buddy push the car backwards/ forwards rocking it in gear, a few inches, that usually allows things to free up, if turning the steering wheel to its limits and applying a bit of pressure has no effect.
a worn ignition key assembly gets progressively worse over time, but theres a linkage to the trans that keeps you from starting the car in gear and if thats out of adjustment, worn or broken it needs to be adjusted or replaced.

Step1
Make sure the transmission is in park (for cars with automatic transmissions).
Step2
Set the parking brake to prevent the car from rolling farther .
Step3
Pull hard on the steering wheel while turning it in both directions. If this doesn't free the wheel,
move on to step 4.
Step4
Release the parking brake and put the transmission in neutral. Let up on the foot pedal just enough to rock the car slightly.
Step5
Turn the steering wheel again. The key should turn now.
step 6
REPLACE the ignition lock if it happends again
