your thoughts on combo

I found out recently, as I didn't build the motor, that the timing was set at 28 degrees total timing. I know this is wrong and I am going to reevaluate that by starting at 34 and move up 2 degrees until the time starts to fall off. My question is that with this set up, am I going to get any kind of decent times and/or speed out of this combo or do I need to take my heads and intake down some. My 60 ft is 1.8 and my 1/4 is 12.7 at 105. Any and all help would be welcome.




as always you start with the basics, have you verified the cam timing,was the cam degreed in or installed (dot-too-dot) and have you verified TDC,is the damper labeled accurately in degrees?
whats your oil pressure look like, whats the oil and coolant temps?
whats the fuel pressure and does it remain consistent?
what temp is the trans fluid and oil temps at the end of a run?
how tall are the rear slicks? , are you getting a full width patch and traction?
whats your converter stall speed?
whats your static compression?
whats your FUEL AIR RATIO?
whats your exhaust temps at WOT? at the end of a run?
whats a leak down test show and whats a compression test show?
what octane fuel?
and what rpms are you turning in the lights at the end of the 1/4 mile track?
what rpm are you shifting at?
whats your intake plenum vacuum read at WOT?
whats your header collector back pressure at WOT?
can you post clear detailed pictures of the spark plugs labeled as to cylinder number?
whats the ignition advance curve look like?
any signs of detonation?
whats the plug gap?
