Today I joined Grumpy's Performance web page. I have been racing all my life. I started in motocross and karting. When a new kart track was built nearby, I went all in. Road racing. I raced shifter karts exclusively.
I built my own engines. My studies centered around Applied Physics. The knowledge I gained as I grew to understand how the dynamics of flow worked, the faster my engines became. On the side I built kart and GP road race engine and exhaust pipes. I took one customers bikes and set it up for a standing mile run. Bythe end of the year we had broken 13 land speed records in 4 different classes. We also were the first to devolop a working weather station and a system of notes to record all our data. This was a HUGE advantage!
Now, after losing my left leg, I still raced my shifter and tied for the National title in points in 96 with controls moved around. However, I went back to school for their grad program, and stopped racing.
A few years later I decided to switch to drag racing, being 56 my skills aren't what they used to be for road racing. And, having a 1967 El Camino sitting in my garage, I figured...why not? So here I am. I live in Orange, Ca. and ready to drive the car with the new motor I've built.
