Yes expensive, but I've found out you get what you pay for.impressive and expensive, It should be interesting to see the results and improved performance.
Half a tank of fuel and me in the car is 3748 exactly, Co-Op is right down the street, so we have free access to a scaleBe sure to weigh the car on the scale at the track.
It likely will not ET and mph right with present converter.
Likely be fighting for traction.
If so walk it off the line then stomp on it.
Best strategy for high powered cars without 4-link or ladder bars.
Transbrake equipped Auto works best drag racing.
Jake's Performance sells D1 and D3 Versions.
Expensive all for a 4L80E.
Weigh it all out a Turbo 400 Wins and Superior.
Strength and Value.
Never hit Overdrive Drag Racing.
Enough Power to break stuff.Half a tank of fuel and me in the car is 3748 exactly, Co-Op is right down the street, so we have free access to a scale
24-7
So far Caltracs bars and calvert shocks
Seem to help make it dig a whole lot better, pinion angle -4 deg 3/4 turn on bars. I do have the ability to add weight
By water, which I know is counter productive, but so is not hooking up
So the lesser of the two evils is add a bit of weight.
I did take your advice Brian
While I had old gas tank out I welded plates along fram rails up over and down to the fram extensions.
I have full drag slicks a shoe polish
mark on side wall to video launch.
We will see how it goesEnough Power to break stuff.
Make it heavier gets worse.
Lighter better.
Mph trap speed and scaled weight give pretty good power indication.
Be skewed from present converter.
Use Wallace Racing 1/4 mile calculator.
Did Ok with that converter.Torque converter is definitely a issue.
Best time 11.702 118 mph first pass
First gear and second gear good third gear just spins like I didn't even shift
Could only launch at 2500
So I put it to the test my buddy has a 555ci
Big block Chevy 1969 Camaro 4 link big old fat tire tub his makes 712 lbs ft of torque and 708 hp at the flywheel. He gets me out of the hole
But I reeled him quickly hit third and
It was right back on shift light like I did shift. He ran 11.34
Engine ran great AFR looks good on data logger. As much as I hate to do it turbo 400 maybe in the future
I'm not complaining it's been a couple years since I shot down the track.
And still need to play with launch
New Converter is done and I'm picking it up today after work.
Coan ensured me it was going to make a huge difference, we will see if I can launch harder and get my short time down from 1.86 I should E.T better
I rolled it across the scale last nightKinda hard to see a 1st gen Camaro at 3700 lbs as you state.
My 70 TA is just 3450 lbs with me in it.
I brought cam in 4 degrees advanced468 Hp I calculated at the Flywheel.
3700 lbs.
118 mph trap speed.
Converter wasting at least 100 hp.
At least 550 Hp there I think.
478 Hp now.I rolled it across the scale last night
3780 me in the car, I'm 180
Race Car.thats not a hard weight to see in a first or second gen camaro...depends on the options
Ive seen the cars weight as low as 3180 lbs but 3500-3600 lbs is very common for a first or second gen camaro
theres easily 100-120 lbs in fuel in the tank alone, and having an extra 100 lbs of jacks and spare tire in the trunks easy
