I guy I work with , hes a truck driver & Vette nut, org clutch went south on the 1st set of dyno tunes. So the final cost was 11k . His brother owns a top notch Vette resto shop in NJ & bought my old 78 & 85. Another driver bought my 90.

Sounds pretty good Nightstalker.

Nothing against C5 owners but I will never own one even if given to me free I don't want it.
Forever reminds me of Wiz on DC & his sheetbox.
Really do hate each other !
Race will be on later this year.
All on the line on the streets.

Good one to watch.
Deep 11's each.
Pure Stock Drags racing class.
Reproduction Bias ply tires the cars were built with day 1 new.
All Motor no power adder.
Engines must have exact part number engine blocks, crankshafts, pistons, cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and carburators they were built with.
No modern race transmissions.
No 4-link or ladder bars traction devices allowed or Slide A Link or Caltracs.
Factory installed slapper bars on Camaros and Firebird Ok, Must be OEM Original those slapper traction bars.

Trap speeds over 120 mph.
No EFI nor 3D mapping.

Faster than 99% today being built.

The Very 1st car to get Modern Steel Belted Radial tires installed was the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am..USA.

Ferrari had 1st 1971 or 1972.

You have a long ways to go to 9-second in a C5 & C6.
Like told you on the other forum you need 1400+ Hp.
Large Single Turbo.
Twin Turbo.
Custom Race Fab all.
Ground up race engine build.
Ground up trans build.
Ground up rear diff build.
Race Car roll cage.
NHRA TECH'S DON'T SEE AIRBAGS AS SAFETY ITEMS when the car goes on its roof or hits the wall at 160 mph.

Trans Am you need just true 500 Hp to run 10s.
Gets the power down clean. The Launch it excels at.
Like few other production cars can.
No Vette ever even came close to a Trans Am on Launch.

12.6 ? My 7500 lbs Mud Truck used to run that! In low lock! I'm too scared to run it in high lock.
It was properly named....Unforgiven

Just funning with you AutoWis... Nice run!

Hardcore Ran 10.5 ET With his C5 Corvette while I was Tech mod on VFF Forum.
All on his own..just needed help here and there.
He killed the Dodge Hellcat that day.

I (almost) can't believe how clean those plugs are. Well, that's modern engine controls for ya.

It's cool. We can't all run down the 1320 in 3 seconds and trap at 600mph with 12,000hp poncho power. Only Maniacs can do that.

One big problem Zero people the Public care about drag racing in a Corvette today.
They want to cruise.
Some road race.
Digital Corvette proves that.
Pro Tour ended.
Guys dreamed of building Like Tv cars.
Fell way short of $100k -200k required to pull it off.
Unfinished pro tour projects.

Don't think getting a Corvette down the 1320 is any cheeper.
To Run 6s in 1/4 with a Vette will cost $300,000 cash.
To Run 7s in a Vette $200k.
To Run 8s in a Corvette $150k.
To Run 9s $110,k

Prove me Wrong Wiz

Not a single Hero Car Corvette on Street Outlaws.
All failed again.

Big Chief is still number 1 with his 1970 Crow GTO.
PURE PONTIAC V8 POWER.

IT'S HUGE.
NO PREP.
STREET OUTLAWS.

Matt told us how much money HE spent on his 1988 C4 Corvette World Record holder. Over $200,000 cash.

From A Fiscal financial study a Corvette is a terrible choice to drag race today to compete no prep.
STREET Outlaws.
Costs 3 - 4 times more than any Musclecars does to go the same ET.

And for what ?
The Corvette public does not care.
