Hello, I have a 1991 L98 that I have just rebuilt and am adding secondary Auto Meter gauges to ensure everything is running properly. I am adding a transmission temperature gauges, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and oil temperature gauge. So far I have located all in good locations with the exception of the oil temperature gauge. The oil pressure sender is in the top of the block behind the china wall.
I wanted to put the temperature sensor above the oil filter where as I understand they locate it in Corvettes. However, my factory pressure switch is located there, which I need to keep.
So, my question. Is there anywhere else I can mount my oil temperature sender (1/8" NPT) where is would provide reliable readings? If not, can I branch out from the factory sending location with a pipe nipple with a tee at the end and run the pressure sender and temperature sender?
Thoughts and help as always are much appreciated!
