Let the pictures tell.
There is alot of science involved & lots of Finace skill.
Chose to keep it simple. Single angle.
Undercut a few seats.
I hate Some Stellite seats. Take forever to clean up.
Old school way still works.
Modern head machines cost $10- 50 K to buy.

I use Interference angles most of the time Grumpy.
Chevrolet, Pontiac, Olds, Ford & many others used.
My Sioux Valve grinding gear rebuilt many BBC & SBC & GTO's in the 1960's & 70's.
From a now long closed down Chevrolet garage my late Bud "B" worked at for 20 + years.
Only he used it other than myself now.
I use Interference angles most of the time Grumpy.

The Honda head was resurfaced 2 years ago, 90,000 miles by my bud Steve.
On his Van Norman with CBN Cutters.
Gives correct RA or RMS Finish for optimal sealing & prevent head gasket creep movement.
Insuring the Head deck sealing surface is clean & flat Rick.Indycars said:

your either a better mechanic than I am or at least you have a great deal more tolerance for working on over head cam , import car engines,and front wheel drive cars which I abhor,
congrats on an obviously complicated job , that was well done!
Ive worked on enough of those import cars in the past to have developed a firm conviction they are best poked with a 10 foot long sharp stick and avoided like the black plague.....and yeah ,been forced several times to do repairs to family owned cars so I,m all too familiar with the cramped engine compartments and parts that only fit certain production months, etc.

Its real close to being done Grumpy.
change the oil & filter.
Fill the cooling system & bleed of air pockets.
Fasten up the exhaust system down pipe/ head pipe.
Install the accessory mini 4- groove serpentine belts for the Alternator, P/S, & A/C.
A once over & start it.
Too cold to repaint the valvecover in Black Crinkle . Only 30- 40 F outside.
Worked till Midnight last night. Got too cold & tired, was about 19-20 F.
A solid lash engine. Set Intake Valves to .004" Cold. Set Exhaust Valves to .007" Cold.
Spark plug Gap .040" - .042".
Feels Great to be Almost Done.... :mrgreen:

I like BBC. Pontiac V8's, & Race Cars BETTER too.

Have to Remember nearly All Honda 4Cyl engines rotate backwards.
From balancer side it rotates CCW.
Start wrapping timing belt on Exhaust cam sprocket.
Wrap belt CW.
Trick from me.

I picked up a Bottle of MARVEL MYSTERY OIL Too Grumpy.
Says on the Backside it was used in all WW2 Fighter Planes. Indy Car Racing.
Going to Add.
I am a Casterole GTX Man. Works great like Your Mobil 1.

The Honda CRV B20Z2 Engine is Alive again Grumpy.
Took pictures. Few more tips. Post later tonight.
Its hitting on all 4 cylinders clean .
Revs instant.
Not missing a beat.
Like a Fine Tuned Swiss made VERTEX OAC MAG Spinning at 7k Rpms on my Sun distributor machine.
Valvetrain quiet. No leaks.
Sunset now. Picking up tools. Check Base ignition timing next with my 2261 Snap on Digital advance timing light.
Then test drive.
Thanks for the FERRERA SUPER ALLOY VALVE LINKS & READING.
NO MORE NAGGING FROM WIFEE....
AT LEAST FOR 1 WEEK.
