just want some reassurance on combo choices

The Isky 272/282 I noted was not picky at all about Carb CFM size nor Primary header tube size.
780 CFM max carb size recommend from the Isky Catalogue.

Big CFM carbs can be hard to get throttle response. Or Transit response on the street.
Annular Boosters used to take care of 950-1085 com in a 4150 baseplate Holley 4 bbl.

The Dual Plane Intake costs 56 Hp with the Isky 272/282.
1.6 rockers not much of an improvement.

Run the Single plane intake.

Ran a simulation with Isky and mufflers.
A true 500 Hp with 87 octane gas.

Post results later.
It's my Sons Birthday.

Isky 272/282 HR Cam with Dual Plane intake. 1.5:1 Rockers.
Down 56 HP.

Isky 272/282 HR with 1.5:1 Rockers.
Sinlge Plane intake.
Small Tube Headers with Mufflers.
A True 500 Hp on 87 octane in street driving trim.

If You look at the VE numbers with no mufflers and with Mufflers the Isky is not real sensitive to back pressure.
Prefers open exhaust but still making very good power capped off to quiet it down.

Loosely termed but I would look for and use a Medium plenum volume single plane.
Tends to help with throttle response.
Street driving.

Track WOT try a Large plenum volume.

Engine is to large Cubic Inch for some Vintage small plenum volume single planes made 20-50 years ago.

I played around with DD2000 and the Isky 272/282.
Found the Optimum static compression ratio to Net 8.2:1 dynamic compression for 93 octane.
Then ran an engine simulation.
Achieved over 600 HP.
Post results next.

I'm curious to see what it would have to be. I have a hard time with that cam jumping up with that kind of power with that low duration and lift
