LS7 454 big block, oil pours from around oil filter.

I just recently replaced the headers on my '69 Chevelle, the car has a GM crate LS7 that was swapped in around ~91 or so. recently replaced the 1 7/8 primary headers to headers with 2" primaries. in doing so the oil filter had to be removed for the drivers header to clear the lower A-arm. Went ahead and changed the oil, even though the oil in it only had ~1800 miles. Here's where the problem comes in, after changing the oil and putting a new filter on, I fired up the car only to find it was throwing oil around the oil filter, the engine was making ~60psi of oil pressure. Went and replaced the filter with a AC Delco filter, thinking maybe the K&N had a defect, came home put the Delco filter on and same thing. The oil filter mount is clean, no seal on it from the old filter, no nicks or scratches on it, anywhere. Any idea what the problem could be?

the block adapter that the oil filter screws on to can be cracked very easily, with no more info than youve provided so far thats the prime suspect.Id also closely inspect the oil temp sensor location, the oil pan gasket and the rear seal and rear cam plug just to be sure they are not the source

obviously these won,t fit all chevy applications but if you have the room for the longer, spin on filters

The "longer high capacity oil filter" Purolator is L40084.

"longer high capacity oil filter" N.A.P.A: # 1794

"longer high capacity oil filter" ACDelco: PF932

Thank you for the quick response. The block adapter is in very good shape, I think it might be the port for the oil pressure gauge that's right above the filter. It looks kind of like the brass fitting might be cracked, but with the routing of the primary tubes, I have to remove the driver side header

I replaced the oil pressure guage line, and it no longer leaks. but somewhere in either rebuilding the carb, or jacking up the engine, something is amiss in timing. When giving the motor some throttle, it hesitates, but the RPM's do climb fast after the hesitation, but after letting off the throttle, they drop very slowly, and when holding a steady RPM, there is constant backfiring, which makes me think timing. I'm going to try to get a sound clip to give you an idea. but the carb is a Holley 850 double pumper, with mechanical secondaries, it is Holley 4781.

set the ignition timing so itsat 36 degrees total advance at 3100rpm as a start point, and don,t worry about where it is at idle at this point, verify the carb throttle blades fully open and close with the petal movement by having the air cleaner removed and have a buddy depress the petal and release it, also, verify your fetting a full duration accellerator pump shot of gas from the instant the throttles depressed untill it reaches full open BOTH when done fast and slower.
Id also check spark plug color as it can tell you a good deal about the fuel/air ratio
