Lots! This is my 1971 numbers matching fully loaded 4 speed with A/C and power windows.image.jpg

Nice!!!!!! A 71... What are the weak spots to look for?

(What's under the hood?)

Hmm, non-original seats with worn out foam foundation. No A/C, no tilt or telescopic steering, missing E brake console, missing lower front air dam, cheap tires, cheap center out mufflers without correct chrome box tips. Not a lot of money so far. The C3 is a car you must see on a lift.
The price is good for a1970 convertible however a 4 spd would be worth 2 or $3,000 more. These cars can get incredibly hot and nobody wants the top down all the time so A/C is a big plus. If the driver is tall or big, non adjustable steering is a pita!
Frame, bird cage and front cross member is subject to rusting. Check condition of body mounts in rear wheel wells in front of tires and in cab behind kick panels. Trailing arm bushings are a big pita to replace. Bad worn out rubber bushings throughout front and rear suspension are a clue whether this car was well cared for or not. Drive train is typical GM fare and inspection is similar experience for all GM cars of this period.

I'm having trouble finding my engine compartment photos right now, stay tuned. However this red convertible is missing the chrome distributor cover and chrome wire shields

Sun visors are plexiglas crap and antenna is missing (unless a power aftermarket unit was installed) non original radio

Under the hood is a numbers matching 350 with rebuilt but original dist, QJet, starter, just water pump is a sbc replacement.
Documented 63,400 miles
It is for sale with a brand new $7,000 full Al knock interior, new tires, brakes and new Zoom clutch system.. Brand new Hooker headers and side pipes. No leaks, tight transmission and rear, New gas tank. Completely rust free frame and bird cage including detailed pictures of bare bird cage. Heat and sound barrier throughout interior. Ha! Q-jet was stock????
Yes all non HO engines in C3s are QJets.
I have a lot of respect for Quadrajet 4V carbs when they are properly set up and tuned to the engine it's on. They are typically 750 cfm and more in some Pontiacs and some HO applications. My QJet has a quick response, smooth operation and starts quick hot or cold. This particular time I sent my carb to Lars in CO, Lars is a highly respected carb and distributor tech with both bench and test engine tuned. Lars also rehabbed the distributor replacing all worn internal parts and customized the spring rates for precise advance operation.

Any immediate way of identifying if that's a 35o (not a 305) and Corvette heads? Or valve covers have to come off?

This is looking pretty good...

For this 1970 corvette convertible... the numbers seem to check out so far... everything except maybe the carburetor and I haven't looked under the valve covers... but from what I can tell from the patina (and double humps, FWIW) this looks all original.

The dude is asking for 20k. We'll come back for a second look and put her on a hoist and do other various checks... (And if it checks out, I'd snag it in a heartbeat)

Numbers I could make out:

block stamps: V0220CTG and partial VIN 70s404967

Seems to indicate corvette

The block casting is: 3970010

Again - was used in 1970 corvettes... potential 4-bolt

Looks like a real cheap paint job - lots of fish eyes.

Non-HEI distributor...

The place was a near museum... I'll post more pics tomorrow...

For now? Zzzzzzz

yes from the pictures you posted, IT LOOKS PRETTY MUCH ORIGINAL

The carb is from another car, Chevy but 1976-9 manual. Doesn't mean much though. Headlight doors have newer parts. HEI was not available yet. Repaintng these Corvettes can be expensive. A more recent bad job can be covering up bad bonding on fenders and more, perhaps an accident. The misaligned wipper door is correctable with adjusting, may have been apart in the past.

image.jpg There is (Orange should be) a tag on the inside door jamb, driver's side the shows a paint code and interior trim code.
I'm just wondering if you were concerned about the original color? This one
