Sleeper!!!!

What do you say gents? Hail Mary and try to replace just the O-ring?

It looks like this inside...

Chances are it isn't leaking form that junction but from the little rubber cap on the side of the hex piece (removed in the 2nd pic). The rubber cap is there to releave pressure so the proportioning valve still works if one of the o-rings starts leaking (like yours). If you can get it apart you could replace the o-rings but it is pressed together very snugly (note that I cut it apart).

Nope - the o-rings need to be brake fluid resistant... I think I can forget this...

once again I wish you were local, Ive got at least three totally different o-ring material selection assortments

Yea - thanks, I appreciate!

I kinda looked forward to rebuilding the CV rather than replacing it. Would have been a cool conversation piece.

Anyway, I'll order a new one from Summit and, in the meantime, I will drop off the Tangerine Tornado at the body shop to take care of some rust issues.

EDIT: This weekend I hope to replace the speedo cable and reconnect the adjustable torque converter lockup circuit.

I really do enjoy seeing once again my in-dash A/F sensor. Nice to be gettig to the point where the details are coming together... not that the brakes are a detail.

Replaced combination valve. Turned out to be easier than I thought.

The ABOVE was the leaking weep hole. Glad I didn't try to fix this. The spare part was $45 from Summit

The new CV doesn't have that hole.

The brakes now work better than ever. Hard to believe I am driving a 40-year-old car.

Damn FUN to drive like this even with a few hundred ponies missing.

You must have developed a high level of patience, since most everything has to shipped across the big pond. TIME TO ENJOY THE RIDE NOW !!!

As I use to tell my kids, " keep it under a 100 mph ". That way I knew they would follow my advice.

Ok. I swapped on the OEM calipers and brought it to tech inspection. With electronics concealed under the dash - MSD, circuit broad with relays, boost retard, switch panel... Jacket thrown over race harness... It passed!!!

In fact, I already slapped the supercharger back on. Replaced the PS pump. The old PS pulley was interfering. Still on this one I had to gring back the hub a bit. I think by Monday evening the Chevy should have a lot of its power back. Water/meth injection etc. Oh yeah... I put on a new smaller pulley on the supercharger. ;-)

Need to put vacuum boost gauge back on as well...

well IT PASSED thats the big hurdle , all the rest is comparatively minor chick crap that you'll work thru easily

Congrats....you're free to tear up the streets again!!!

I hate to ask this, but when do you have to go thru inspection again?

Next tech inspection is in December. We got some time.

Well, I took it out for a small drive. It's far from tuned but holy SH!T when it hits a sweet spot, it's scary!!!!!!

Been too chicken to bring it up over half throttle. Must be that new pulley and non-slipping 12-rib belt.

Well.......did you scream like a little girl :!: :!: :!: :?: :?: :?:

My brother asked me way back before I got started.....what kind of motor do you want to build??? I said.....I want to build something that will scare me, sound like you got my wish!

I probably would, had I dared actually gone past half throttle. Those street tires are worthless in first and second. I once lots traction at 55mph with larger, less-boosting pulley. So lord know what it can do to the tires now!

I'll be starting a new thread on tuning the TT. I would like like to tune this on the street as much as I can... Then on to a dyno.
