Funny, I had a 64, 65 and a 67 Cutlas, one after the other in the mid 70's and they all had the 330 Rocket engines. Even back then I believed these cars were fast for just a 330! I stepped on the gas one day and the force snapped the 2 front bolts on the drive's seat (I was about 175 back then).
I have a 425 dual quad from a 65 Riviara that I trying to sell right now. To get a decent price I'll have to rig it for running or take it off of CL as people are pissing me off with their low-ball offers
Make a test stand and then You Tube Video the 425 Buick running Richard.
Its not an easy to find engine today .
GTO ?Mecum is coming to Harrisburg next month and my wife has agreed to keep quite for one last time. I entered my last bike for that sale and I'm only less then 2hrs away from home. There's just one car I must get.
I have been looking at the Early Wide Track Pontiacs lately Richard.
Trophy 425 389ci Tri Power cars 4-speed.
Hard to find.
The early Cadillacs are nice Richard.A GTO, I wish. Actually the car is a late entry, the seller is bringing it just 3 days before the auction so it's selling off list. I chromed most of this car and now he's broke.
It's a 56 Eldorado Convertible w/AC. Wife agrees only because the whole family can go out together. The car is finished so if successful it'll be the first collector car I ever bought that I can ride and show from day one.
However . . . . .
I do have my eyes on a few early Impala convertibles with big blocks, one 67 GTO Convertible and a beautiful 70 Chevelle SS 454 convertible LS5 (Why not the LS6? I like my A/C and other options more than a few extra horses). And lastly anything that winds up being a missed buy).
Brian, explain "Trophy" cars, are you talking about race cars? If so good luck! True Vintage race cars that finished are sky high anymore!
I recall hearing of the 1970 Hemi Head 455 Olds V8 Grumpy.
