85 intake

Hello Grumpy, this is my first post so forgive me if I get straight to the point. I’m in the process of replacing intake gaskets on my 85. i noticed the guides (circled in red in the pictures) are sticking up about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. It’s only on Cylinders #1 and #7 on one bank and #2 on the other side. Should i be concerned or do anything about this? My fist inclination was to try to tap the down, but I controlled myself.

any tips you can offer re the gasket install is welcomed.

thanks for any help you can offer

that's a LIFTER and its NORMAL, don't be concerned
they all move up and down individually on the cam lobes in a preset order, the FIRING ORDER as the VALVES open and close,
to allow the cam timing to fill the cylinders to open and close valves, theres a 720 degree repetitive cycle(the engine turns two full rotations before the cycle completes,
if you had the intake off like in the picture and had a buddy try to use the starter to spin the engine you would see the lifters cycle in the firing order
firing order is 18436572
