Chevy 5.7 Vortec Marine intake manifolds, MerCruiser OMC Volvo Penta

I need some help, i am not familiar with marine stuff, but i have seen there is a intake manifold type on some of the 5.7 Mercruisers/OMC/Penta(?) that looks lika a 4V carb intake with holes for injectors in the runners, it would be perfect on my project engine, but where do i find them used for a resonable price?

Here is another type of Vortec intake, with the injectors on the outside,
it could also work for me. Strange things on the marine applications :)

be aware most marine intakes are cast iron, and almost all have the coolant passages coated , internally with a sealant or a brass liner, that helps prevent electrolysis
which happens rapidly in salt water environments even with ANODES rapidly and slower in fresh water but it still degrades aluminum making the intake useless
anode use is mandatory!
btw you can't use a stock car cam in a marine application that has the exhaust exiting into the water, as many auto cams have cam timing that will suck water up into the exhaust ports under some conditions
obviously you can try ebay and amazon, JEGS, SUMMIT etc, but any major marine boat storage and boat engine repair shop should have used ones on hand regularly, from engine rebuilds, and engine swaps, they have done.

In short, i want an vortec intake without the "inside poppet injectors" but instead use the "standard typ injectors" on the outside. There is always the option to drill and weld bungs in an carb intake, but i thought the marine intake would be a short cut, but they seems scarce and pricey...

$409.00

this is what ID use buying that would work better and be cheaper than modifying and welding some carb intake and buying matching fuel rails

That sure is a nice piece, but it will cost me at least $900 when it arrives at my door, since i live in Sweden and our currency have went south
I begin to realize a cant go this route.

??? do they tax the hell out of imported parts?
shipping alone can't be $350, or are you referring to the need for injectors and a throttle body etc.
this has never been a cheap hobby,
but you generally can find deals if you look long enough,... and it helps a great deal,
if you have a bunch of friend's in the hot rodding hobby help look out for what you need??

that sounds like most of the guys I work with... moneys always tight! :swearing:
