reconditioning any 3/8" rod bolt BBC connecting rods, is generally wasted money, much stronger aftermarket connecting rods are not going to cost you a great deal more that the machine shop will charge for resizing the old rods and swapping to new ARP rod bolts
and yes obviously you can easily spend $2k on connecting rods but darn good ones are available for under $500 a set

Do the mfg's advertise their weights with or without bolts? I have a set of 6" h-beams that weigh 715grams with 1.75 long ARP bolts. Without they weight about 645g empty They look like Scat, Callies, Carillo and others but they dont have the chamfered edge at the bolt end like all of those...

What con-rods would you buy?

I just bought a set of used Carrillos with 7/16 Carr bolts. Those should be as good as you can buy. For $264 I just didn't want to pass on that. New ones are $2100+. I'll have them inspected when they arrive, install new bushings, have them resized if necessary and I think that I should be...
