these welds were done with a 110 volt MIG on thin sheet aluminum, mostly just to see if you can effectively mig weld thin aluminum with a 110 volt mig!, having these pictures is great because its an excellent teaching aid!

cold mig weld on aluminum, certainly not structualy strong

the center weld above is obviously hot,enought to get good penetration, not cosmetically pleasing perhaps, but ID sure bet its fine strength wise
 
I wish my first few welding attempts on aluminum, looked that good!
 
it just takes practice and time to get decent welds if your equipment is up to the job, the most common problems I see are guys that don,t know how to set the settings on welders or shield tanks gas flow rates or guys that don,t ask questions if they are not getting things to run correctly PROVIDED the welder used is up to the capacity they need.
