What is a good medium grade spark plug for a Toyota? I don’t need 100,000 mile iridium plugs but neither do I want cheap 20,000 mile copper plugs. I have at least 150,000 miles on a set of E 3’s. Something that will get another 50 - 60K more miles for middle of the road price. Recommended?

Many modern engines only have Double Platinum an Iridium tipped spark plugs available for them.

I like NGK, AC Delco Original Copper Core, Autolite, Champion Copper cores work suprising well in many Imoprt Japanese engine.
Accel C-cuts copper core my favorite what I use in the Pontiac 455 and Olds 425 past.

Thanks for the answers!
Same for the wires, what’s a medium price for the Cat? Again, not looking for the best or any Dollar store varieties.

No O’Reily’s around here and it’s weird they don’t ship to here. I really avoid NAPA stores, seems like I’ve been getting bad parts from them the past few years.

Advanced Auto ?
Autozone maybe, usually my last choice because I found out Soros owns them 100%.

Have Rock Auto also Grumpy likes.
Then Summit Racing sells daily driver parts.
Maybe Ebay sellers also.
That Icard seller on Ebay is really good I found my Purple Anodized ARD 4150 Holley Daul throttle Return spring bracket on the Gp now from them. They network National with all Independent sellers and Speed Race shops.
It actually was shipped from a Speedshop in North Carolina.

Rock Auto had the Front Pinion Oil Seal I needed for the 63 Pontiac CR Chicago Rawlings.
Really hard to find item because its 1963 & 1964 Pontiac only part.

I personally have had some problems with Rock A. But that’s been my fault when it’s happened because I wasn’t doing my do diligence. You can think something is a great deal but when you pay high shipping charges it evens out. For “me” they are not fast service. I’ve bought parts that were not sealed from the factory. As an example in April I bought some wiper blades that were the last couple on clearance. When I got them they had Scotch tape all over the end of the package and they were used, probably someone’s return. For “me” it just wasn’t worth fooling with a return to save a couple bucks - just wasn’t worth my time.
Another time I ordered a set of 8 spark plugs. Hit the quantity button for 8 when I checked out. I always recheck everything before I hit the final buttons to purchase. When the order was shipped it was for just 1 plug. R A charged me for just one plug yes, but now I have to order 7 more and with additional shipping charges.

And I noticed that these DIY shows on TV plug that they got all these obscure parts for their cars from the 50s and 60s (speaking about “Garage Squad”) but when I’m looking for a lousy set of bolts for mounting a Quadrajet they don’t carry them!

How can you tell when the ignition wires need replacement other than for obvious failures?
grab your multi meter and select OHMS,
all ignition wire should read UNDER 250 ohms per foot and ideally under 100 ohms per foot
if lets say most of your ignition wires read between lets say 360 ohms and 450 ohms,
and one reads 790 ohms, and one reads 1300 ohms,
you can be reasonably sure those two are defective!
as a general rule
any ignition wire (spark plug wires) over 3-4 years old
( if the cars been driven reasonably regularly)
is in need of replacement, on a serious race engine I doubt they remain,
viable over a year,

btw e3 plugs are not very effective , durable or in my experience worth the cost.

If you remember years ago I won a lifetime supply of E3 plugs, *Limit of 8 every 6 years. I know:eek:

I just happen to have 4 of them for some reason. There are some that love them, I on the other hand only have experience with installing a set in the Z06 Corvette and saw the gas mileage on the monitor go up by 2 ticks afterwards. I never checked them after the installation.

They are heavily sponsored in Professional Racing and NASCAR rules are if the racing team sponsors a brand of automotive parts is has to be in that car. That’s been going on since the mid ‘90’
