Today I tore down the engine as you can see the reason is because the distributor gear chewed up the cam gear and wanted to see how much damage the metal particles done to the block, some of the cylinders are showing scars I dont know if this is normal or some thing that needs to be addressed? The scaring really cant be felt by hand

Take a look and let me know if you think it would ok to just flush the engine and put it back together or???

The dirt you see in the pics os from a rag I used to soak up the antifreeze from the cylinders

It looks like you caught it before major damage was done,
If you can,t feel the lines in the cylinders that's a GOOD THING!
I'm sure you MIGHT just want to change oil and reassemble, the engine but a total disassemble process, close inspection, and a light cylinder hone job with a 280 grit stone , with a torque plate on the block to get the cylinders pulled into concentric/round, shape like they will be with the heads torqued into place, and followed bye a total cleaning , followed with new rings and bearings would be the route ID SUGGEST, simply because the bearings may be far worse and you won,t know until you closely inspect them, besides a good total clean out,and new rings and bearings sure won,t hurt

Grumpy, I was hoping to just do a cleaning and put it all back together but after I pulled the heads off and seen that cylinder bores I started to think other wise.

I will be pulling the mains to have a look at the bearings

"IF" I do need new bearings can I just get the same thickness of the currant or do I have to get new bearings measure & gauge them?

there's an EXCELLENT chance that just replacing them with the same size bearings will replace the older bearings
but a quick check with plasti-gauge , and coating the new bearing shell surface with moly assembly lube and adding a few magnets to collect residual metallic crap in the oil won,t hurt.
if the ring seal was good before this it still may be acceptable with a light hone, but the use of torque plates durring the hone will help insure the ring seal.
