Right... called machine shop. For about $50 they can file to fit my rings. I read in a book somewhere that unless you have the tool, it's best to just leave it up to the shop which I think I will.
Tomorrow I will drop off the pistons, rings, and cam bearings, splayed caps 'n bolts, + head bolts.
Will tell the guy to:
- deck (not to zero - just clean-up)
- replace cam bearings
- overbore
- add splayed caps + align bore.
Two weeks later, I should have everything back.
Frustrating in a way, because like Indy, I'd like to get busy on cleaning up the block.
On other hand, that does give me more time to work on the engine bay...
Frustrating...
