Today I finally got to work on my motor for a bit.
Got my tools ready for the job,
did not have time to make the squaring tool so I used a piston instead.
I have one second ring that is out of square by about .001 it measures .026 on the inside and .027 at the wall
With the intended power levels expected, I am not going to sweat this ..
As of tonight I have only one cylinder to go as far as fitting the rings. each set of rings are in a marked plastic bag waiting to be installed on it's piston.
Oh yea... I got a couple packages dropped off today... my oil pan arrived!!
And a few studs came in also...
I ordered a 1 piece pan gasket but it won't ship for another 2 weeks...Also, that damn EPC-108 hidden oil plug has been a pain in my ...... I have called all over and no one has one. So I found it at Summit Racing.
It is being shipped from Neb. and should arrive here on Friday.
In the mean time... I bolted the rear oil main cap on and used my bore gauge to check the diameter.. I will be making an alignment tool that is used to locate that rear seal adapter in line with the crank... They wanted $60
for the tool... I have some Delron rod at work that I can use to spin one up on the lathe. I'll post pics when it's done.
Well, that's about it for an update so far.
