Big bumpers forever in CA :)

I told you guys the wheels are slicker than monkey spit!!!!!!! didn't I, huh, huh, huh?

Hahah - love it. I was not sure where to go next. Is this the start of the build thread? Or does that go somewhere else? @busterrm - that was a tag. Where I use your name and it generates a hyperlink. Not sure about this site, but in general it is used to send an alert to that person that you mentioned them. On forums, you typically get notified whenever the post is updated, so it does not really matter.
I can be a doofus when it comes to computers, I know how to use them, stuff like tags my lil pea brain goes whooooooo off up into the wild blue yonder!!!!

It creates a link to a basic overview of that member.

You can link your build thread to your postings like Indycars has on his. I am not sure how to do it, Indycars can help on that, he is the resident computer geek.

I like the trim/ground effects and that functional air scoop of the 1980. Does anybody know if the wheel flares and the other stuff fit mid '70's Z28s?
I really like the Trans Am silver with a blue colored bird and the same for the Z28, blue decals over matalic silver. I have to drive one of these cars again. I can't remember if they were easy to get in and out and how comfortable to drive, I seem to remember the doors are long and had to be opened fully to exit.

From 79(?) on, the nose and fenders are different to support the rubber nose instead of the fiberglass like my car has. I really like the '81 T/A in black. My mom had one. Epic car

I liked the mid 70s camaros myself, I liked their low to the ground stance, just cool!

This thread needs pics, so this is my last mid 2nd gen Camaro. Looked better before I took the Centerlines off to sell it. Was a bracket car. I liked the look of the fiberglass bumpers better than the aluminum but they really kinda sucked although they were light. If I live long enough I'm gonna find a 79 Z-28 and reverse the fender grills so they point the "right" direction. My kid had a couple 79's.

That's a nice looking ride right there. My first car was a '74 Z28. Crazy car with mechanical lifter setup and an inline 4 speed shifter. What the heck was I thinking? :) The motor spun rod bearings twice before I had to put it out to pasture. Something was just not right about the bottom end in that engine.

This picture is a pretty close representation of what mine looked like.

I am copying those stripes on my 77. I am even going to attempt to paint them :)

I just sold a set of nos in GM 78/79 side vents still original wrapping Easter week. That black bumper strip, if painted professionally in matching body color looks much better - same for the headlight bezels when they are body colored too.
Yes, the direction of the fender vents never made any sense

I have been poking around, but I am still not sure where a build thread would go. I don't see many of them.

I always liked the 74 Z-28 stripes. Mine was a Type LT with a vinyl roof. I contemplated not putting a new top on (and putting the stripes on) when I made a new sail panel to replace the one that had rotted under the old vinyl but decided I liked the vinyl so I put a new top on after the metal repairs.. Painted stripes that were also painted on the cowl grill like Rich mentioned would look really nice IMO.

We are a small group active daily.
Lots of members but only about 10 of us post daily.'
Most of us float around on other forums.
Grumpys site is like Command Center Headquarters.

Take your pick where you want to start a thread.
Bodywork.
Musclecars.
Corvettes.
Racing section.
Engine Data base, ect.

Most of us have builds in progress.
Slow moving.
As cash is earned and parts bought, we update.

There are some cars that look great in vinyl tops. The first and 2nd generation Camaros, '66 to '72 Chevelles and Novas (Monti Carlos, anybody remember them?)

So many great cars, so little money!

Erik, just a thought here. I like an updated look to the call out decals on the '74 Z28 hood if you took the 3 layer design of the 1980/81 Z28 and applied it light silver to dark charcoal (or light gray to black)
It's like Chip Foose does, makes subtle changes that look like they could have been born that way from the factory.
