I agree, but you and I know we aren't going to be able to achieve the same flow characteristics with the non cathedral type ls heads. If I wanted to go go LS then sure, I would. I could make that a goal. The fact here is a want a long block that can be dual purpose so to say. Something I can put the pro Flo on, something I can stick an aed or pro system carb and run it either way. I have the pro Flo 3 in hand, I have a Holley single plane, I have an Edelbrock air gap. There is no reason the 272 isky you love wouldn't fit the bill for all three of those setups. Rockers Crower may be pushing it vacuum wise, but I honestly think it would work if I was willing to tune and use a gapless ring, the Straub cam will make the vacuum cut. No need to reinvent our choices, I think we had several good candidates. Still waiting for the 272 isky Dyno sheet with the @.050 numbers. Apples to apples. Show us that and let's see what happens to that stick with the correct timing events vs the others. The data was skewed with the advertised specs. That's a fact. But in all fairness and for my education purposes let's see the SAME data, on all those grinds. I'm not hell bent on stivkist with one induction system. I could careless. If the pro flow works, that'd be fantastic. If it doesn't I will put it back on my shelf for another build this winter and throw a nice carb on it all call it a day. No big deal to me. I will use it at some point. I'm not trying to milden this build to suit an EFI system. Yeah it'd be nice to have and use, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
