Amazing the Original Fuel Tank is spotless clean inside with Zero rust.
Looked in with a flashlight.
Too hard to photograph.

I Love how simple the old cars were.
No need to drop the fuel tank like 99.999% of cars and trucks today.

Fuel pressure is pretty rock steady now.
The Old sending unit showed I had a 1/4 tank.
It was actually off and just on fumes little gas in the tank.
Ran for 2 minutes then out of gas.
No test drive yesterday.
Have to go buy 5 gallons with my gas can before driving.

looks like your old sending unit was long past needing to be replaced,
Im rather surprised the fuel pump was not damaged by the debris it surely ingested,
with the fuel filter pick-up sock damaged

I have a fuel filter inline before the fuel pump.
Seldom ever use a Fuel filter after the pump.
Just how I how plumb.
Rather not have anything after the pump to cause restrictions.
In theory not an issue.
Have my superstition yet.

your correct, in doing things like that, as it potentially limits the source of many issues with trash/debris

It might be worthwhile buying another 1.000 " 4 -hole or Open carburator plate and stacking on top of the Current Moroso Grumpy. See what happens.

The Early 1966-1970 Olds cast iron 425-400-455 4-bbl intakes are like unobtainable now.
Think all got tossed away.
Still have the Original 1965 425 Intake.
Just won't fit the Holley 4150 I have.

Not sure if a used Edelbrock Performer 455 intake is worth the swap or not.
Does not look like it's any better than stock Olds reading.

Get anything but early Stock Iron intakes easy to fit a Holley Carb !
Read adapter plates knock down 100+ cfm to the engine !
Needed for Edelbrock Performer Olds 455 Intake ..has spreadbore...steel plate sold new to adapt to Holley 4150.

I had a hairline crack in the old aluminum fuel line.
Ran a new one this afternoon.
Mallory Comp 140 Fuel Pump is no longer sucking air in.
Holding fuel pressure steady at 6.5psi.
WOT @100 MPH it only drops down to 6-1/4 psi.
Running pretty good.
Has a slight big off the line. The Moroso 4-hole spacer added plenum volume.
Needs a bigger Accelerator pump shot now.
Has a 50cc Kit installed on the 770 cfm 4150 with a 37 squirter nozzle.
Think I need to step up to 39 or 40.

I was drag racing it hard.
Manual shifting the Turbo 400.
Running like a High 12 second drag car the 1963 Gp.
It's Faster the 87 Vette.
Making shifts at 6000 + rpm.

Offy Dual Port has potential yet.

Brian, did you know, Edelbrock has a Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifold for Olds 400-425-455 engines? P/N is 7551.
I also read that Professional Products has a copy.
There are also a couple of Torker intakes on ebay right now. And then there is this one too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OLDSMOBILE...269948?hash=item2154a8cefc:g:uOkAAOxyItlSN9fQ

Yes.
I don't want to spend that much money right now Mike.
None used shown.
Have to pay full price new.

TA taking alot of $$$$.

Gp is just fun.
Backup car.

It's running pretty good Grumpy the 63 Gp.
Installed a Holley accelerator #45 - .045 Straight squirter nozzle.
Still seems like more is left on the table for power.
Going to Rejet the Holley 770 cfm Carb tommarrow.
72 & 75 primary and secondary jets in now.
Going to try Square jetting it.
75 primary and 76 Secondary.

Have .077, .078, & 080 on hand also.

No exhaust still. So can't use a wideband.
Test drive and use the Butt Dyno.
Read spark plugs also.

I rejetted tonight Grumpy.
It likes the near square jetting 75 pri 76 sec.
Running cooler also.
Have too much accelerator pump nozzle size now.
Try backing off to .040 shot from .045.
Have the .040..bought it also.

Hard intake to tune to that Offy Dual port.

I rejetted this morning again Grumpy.
76 primary 78 secondary.
8.5 AED High Flow Power valve.
50cc accelerator pump kit.
#45 accelecerator pump nozzle.
Lightest secondary spring installed.
Had it out for a 40 mile ride on the highways.
Did 120-130 mph foot on the floor most if the time.
Gassed up.
Ran back to the Farmhouse at 120 mph.
It's running strong.
It's a Love hate relationship that Offy Dual port.
I relocated the accelerator pump cam and drilled a new hole on the car.
Rebent the cam pump arm to correct.

Still a hesitation part throttle from a stop stomping on it.
Think it's the Emulsion circuits.
Wants a Super rich AFR Primary side.
Can't do nothing easy with fixed air bleeds.
I think it wants a Holley Double pumper with Annular boosters.

Better than it has been.
More to be had.
Need a better True Race Hp Holley 4150.

I found the Holley Carb I want for the 63 Gp Grumpy .
Holley 9380.
850 cfm with Annular Boosters.

Runs nice on the little 350 Chevy.
Looks like a TBI Tuck engine with a conversion intake.

Real Nice throttle response I want.

Tempting to put the BLP Bo Laws 1085 cfm Annular Booster 4150 carb I have on.
But it's for the Trans Am Race Engine.
